IntheresearchanddevelopmentstageofthisprojectwestackedupaSupersportR3againsttheSuperbiketrimbikeoutfittedwiththelightenedflywheel.
Anoticeableimprovementinacceleration，spool-up，andeaseofdirectionchangeswasshownwhenusingthismodifiedflywheelwiththetotallossconfiguration(chargingsystemeliminated).
Besidesfreeingupsomemotoroutputandreducinggyroscopicforces，theadditionalstaticmachineweightreductionisasfollows(figuresapproximate)：

・Flywheelmassreduction2lb.
・RemovalofOEMstator1.95lb.
・RemovalofOEMrectifier0.75lb.
・Removalofrectifierheatsink0.6lb
・Wireandconnectorremoval(nominalloss)

Atotalstaticweightreductionofapproximately5.3lb.
wasachievedthroughtheuseofthistechnology.
